HYPNOTHERAPY FOR FIBROMYALGIA
I am currently offering my clients the choice of in-person or on-line sessions.
While most people prefer face-to-face sessions, hypnotherapy can be effectively provided via Zoom if you would prefer this mode of delivery.
If you are uncertain of how to proceed I also offer a free 30 minute online session so that you can chat with me about your individual needs, you can book this by ringing 0427 639 778
Either way, I look forward to connecting with you to help you make the changes you need to make.
Hypnotherapy is arguably the most powerful psychological tool available to us. Very few aspects of our lives can't be changed via hypnosis - I use hypnosis as a tool for self empowerment and change. So if you are in pain, afraid, unhappy, under-achieving or held back by habits that no longer suit you, let me help you change your mind and together we can free you of your issues.
The pain associated with fibromyalgia and arthritis can be reduced with hypnotherapy.
Fibromyalgia is associated with wide spread pain, fatigue and stiffness. People with fibromyalgia are found to have multiple tender points on the body. Hypnotherapy is one of the best alternative therapies in alleviating the pain of Fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgia sufferers may have muscle stiffness/tenderness, increased sensitivity to pain, fatigue, sleep disturbance, headaches, irritable bowel syndrome, foggy thinking, difficulty with memory and concentration and their skin may hurt when touched. But as there’s no specific test for the condition and symptoms are similar to other conditions, it is difficult to diagnose and may be easily dismissed. This is exasperating and stressful for the sufferer and often causes the condition intensify.
However there is now increasing evidence showing that fibromyalgia patients have a high number of neurotransmitters called substance P, which is found in the spinal fluid. These transmitters apparently allow pain messages to be sent to the brain even when there is no source of pain. A person’s perception of pain is greatly exaggerated because of this.
Research has found that neurotransmitters serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine were lower than normal in Fibromyalgia sufferers. Serotonin plays a part in the regulation of substance P (substance P amplifies pain signals) which is why some of the symptoms found in fibromyalgia are very similar to those of depression. A low level of serotonin leads to lowered pain thresholds or an increased sensitivity to pain.
Hypnotherapy helps the body increase the levels of serotonin and maintain the correct regulation of substance P, it also helps you deal with the possible stimulates which may have triggered the illness.
